It BTU!

Look at the camera and see how many BTU burner.

Propane contains about 20,000 BTU per pound. one 20,000 BTU burner is 1 hours in a saucepan with 1 kg of last resort. If your burner 12,000 BTU, you almost 2 hours of fuel at € 1 per bottle.

The bottles should be transported in a well ventilated area and keep as cool as possible and protected from direct sunlight, if possible. I would say the best option is a milk crate with a plastic cover on the colored ...

Small bottles can be carried out as you wish, provided they do not move much. Finally, they are in the business with a dozen or a pin in a cardboard box, shipped by truck delivered. Large propane tanks is another story!

In terms of quantity, why do you care whether they are backpackers? Shop for two days and a replacement, and it should go. Discovering Use of this trip, how much time and place for the next time.

For your information, usually get about 4-6 days to a boil in a two-burner stove with a bottle, and used over the same period, the lantern more economical. (We know if we will need the flashlight, it is usually at bedtime.)

Another FYI propane bottles sold in hardware stores for torch work, and the (usually expensive) things camping stores.

FYI I modified a plan B, if not dying of propane. We always carry a small mini-pellet-fuel 'use stove or cooking fire (if) no ban. Murphy's law often causes the tanks leak or not make muchClosing a valve, etc., and get on the floor, without a plan B.

Not acceptable for the transport of propane gas cylinders in the back of the truck in Tupperware containers. It is probably illegal and certainly not recommended!
The best friend who was traveling in a van and was involved in an accident on the propane tank was loose and there was a large fire caused an accident. They were all killed.

Find other way.I love camping, but want to be sure.

It also depends on how high you turn on the stove and lantern ... If you only have a small light in the lantern is much more .. after his last race High as an oven ..

Use 1 tank of propane gas for approximately 8-12 breakfast (eggs and bacon or sausage) .. Heating and some vegetables for dinner on the same ..

depends on what you use (lantern, stove, water heater), since the time of his trip that I want to use two, one for the flashlight and one for the oven. which are not weakened, are always thrown into a big bag with my misc. Fishing gear.
